Abstract

Medical terminology eases clinical proceedings and enables everyone involved in the process of treatment and care to perform more efficiently for the patient’s benefit. The majority of terms are derived from Greek and Latin and the science-based vocabulary follows a systematic methodology. The best way to learn medical terminilogy is become familiar with the structure and the most commonly used components. In the case of scientific texts, in general, and medical articles in particular, the translator has to adhere to the norms that govern such types of texts in the target language.
