Abstract
The problem of relations between a man and a woman in the article is considered in the social-family, psychological and biological-physiological aspects. Representative monuments of literature and culture from antiquity to the end of the XVIII century are involved. An attempt to solve a multidimensional gender issue is tracked in all works analyzed. It can be noted that the relationship between a man and a woman is quite static in a temporal aspect, regardless of the sociocultural situation as a whole. Of particular interest is the comparison of the so-called "male" and "female" literatures in the analysis of erotic subjects.
