Abstract
In the field of healthcare, the method of teaching with the modeling of the clinical situation contributes to the formation of clinical thinking, allows the assimilation of practical skills and integration of theory into practice. Our goal was to evaluate the possibility of teaching 6th year students on a cardiology cycle using case-based method. Methods: At the Department of Internal Medicine 3 SE “Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” in 2017 the 6th year course students on a cardiology cуcle were studied by case-based method. The completed tasks met the criteria of the National Center for Case Study Teaching. Both at the beginning and at the end of the cycle students answered the questionnary to assess their opinion on the case-based method. Results: At the beginning of cardiology cycle 53% of the students showed caution about proposed case-based method of studying due to low awareness about it and preferred the traditional methods of education to be used (61%). At the end of the cycle about 80% of the students showed a positive response to the teaching methodology, that was used, they noted a better understanding and assimilation of the study material. Conclusions: We described our first experience of teaching 6th year course students on a cardiology cycle using an effective and practical method of case-based studying. This method expands the learning opportunities by mastering the basic concept of the subject and preparing students for professional orientation in a real clinical situation. В сфере здравоохранения метод обучения с моделированием клинической ситуации способствует формированию клинического мышления, позволяет усвоению практических навыков, интеграции теории в практику. Нашей целью было оценить возможность обучения студентов 6 курса на цикле кардиология методом разбора клинических задач. Методы: На кафедре внутренней медицины 3 ГУ «Днепропетровская медицинская академия МЗ Украины» в 2017 году в процессе обучения студентов 6 курса на цикле кардиология использовался метод разбора клинических задач. Составленные задачи соответствовали критериям «National Centre for Case Study Teaching». В начале и в конце цикла был проведен опрос учащихся с целью оценки их мнения об используемом методе. Результаты: До прохождения цикла настороженность в отношении использования нового метода обучения демонстрировали 53% студентов, которую объясняли низкой осведомленностью о данном методе и отдавали предпочтение традиционным формам образования (61%). В конце цикла около 80% учащихся положительно оценивали используемую методику обучения, отмечая лучшее понимание и усвоение изучаемого материала. Выводы: Обучение студентов 6 курса на цикле кардиология методом разбора клинических задач повысило качество и интерактивность образовательного процесса, способствовало формированию профессиональной компетентности, умений и навыков клинического мышления.
