Abstract
Based on the archive and literature sources were analyzed the contribution of O.M. Marzeev to the formation and development of Zemstvo sanitation of Katerynoslav province, effective implementation of the supervision of public hygiene and anti-epidemic measures, hygienic analysis of school and hospital sanitation, supervision of mines, and industrial enterprises was achieved. It is shown, that the model and principles of the Zemstvo sanitary organization of the Katerynoslav province, initiated by O. M. Marseev and his students, associates and followers, became the basis of the organization and development of the sanitary-epidemiological service of Ukraine, the activities of the sanitary doctors of the new formation.
